LISTEN UP!
The city of Tyler of is a non-smoking city. Smoking is not allowed inside Harvey Hall, and no closer than 20 feet from any public doorway. Please be kind and courteous regarding smoking. No alcohol is allowed.
Due to the number of organizations and the number of competition classes, the rules stated by each organization will be used regarding classes. Only the rules stated below will be regarding rules of the show and the money rounds.
Judging : Due to the tendency of the SQ community to be very tight-knit, it is impossible to get 6 truly qualified judges along with the top SQ cars in the industry and not have conflicts of interest. This is known and understood by Texas Summer Showdown management. In consideration of this fact, all judges are expected to stay away from any vehicles that they might be asked to judge at Texas Summer Showdown. If any judge is found to have offered advice concerning a competitor's vehicle that they later judge, that judge's score will be entered as a 'zero' for that competitor's vehicle.
SQ vehicles / indoor demo vehicles / vendor booths : Check in and Registration will begin Friday June 5th at 12:00 p.m. (noon). All indoor vehicles must have 1/4 tank of gas or less and pass a safety inspection. The vehicle may not be moved until 6:00 p.m. Sunday June 7th. Electricity will be provided free of charge. Competitors / booths are responsible for their own power supplies and extention cords. All loose wires must be taped down with duct tape to the floor. Texas Summer Showdown reserves the right to refuse electricity to anyone who uses it in an unsafe manner, so please keep safety in mind.
Car and truck show vehicles / SPL vehicles : All SPL and car/truck show vehicles will be outside. Registration for outdoor vehicles and booth setup will begin Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. and last until 12:00 p.m. If you miss registration you will not be allowed to compete. All registered vehicles will be marked.
Single Seat Round : Entry fee is $35.00 with a cash payout to the top scoring car of $350.00. Each car will be judged by 6 judges, evaluating sound from a single seat in the vehicle. There are no divisions in this category. Scores from all 6 judges will be averaged, and the highest average takes home the cash prize. Score sheet
Top Money Round : Preregistration is only availble for the top money round. Preregistration starts April, 1st 2009. Please contact Monty of Performance Audio for the registration form. The entry fee for the money round is $100.00 per entry. A temporary preregistration list will be posted on the Texas Summer Showdown website. No prepay is accepted. Score sheet
